Care Guide

Keeping your piece
quietly beautiful.

Premium handcrafted decor deserves more than dust. A few thoughtful habits — a soft cloth, a steady spot, a gentle hand — and your TrustfulHands piece keeps its grace for years.

Why It Matters

Considered pieces deserve considered care.

Worth Looking after

Most decor is made to be replaced. A TrustfulHands piece is made to be kept. That difference deserves a few words before any cleaning starts.

Built to outlast trends.

Resin and polyresin, finished by hand, do not fade like printed art or warp like wood. With reasonable care, your piece looks the same in ten years as it did the day it arrived.

Hours of human work, in one object.

Each sculpture is sculpted, cast, sanded, and finished by an artisan — not a factory line. The care you give it honours the hours already given to it.

It becomes part of the room.

Heirloom pieces aren't bought — they're settled into. A few attentive minutes a month is what turns a new object into something familiar, lived-with, yours.

The instructions begin on the next section. This was just a reminder of why they're worth reading.

The Essentials

Four habits, kept simple.

The complete care vocabulary — and everything you'll ever need to remember.

01
Step One

Dust

Light, regular dusting keeps fine details visible and prevents buildup that becomes hard to remove later.

Soft microfiber, dry Once a week is plenty Follow the contours
02
Step Two

Wipe

A monthly refresh with a barely damp cloth lifts what dust alone can't. Always dry immediately after.

Water only, never soap Wring the cloth nearly dry Dry with a clean cloth
03
Step Three

Place

The right spot does most of the work. Steady surface, even temperature, away from direct light.

No direct sunlight Away from heat sources Stable, level surface
04
Step Four

Protect

A few simple habits go a long way. Handle with care, avoid harsh chemicals, and your piece keeps its quiet beauty.

No alcohol or solvents Lift from the base Store wrapped, if needed

Total time: under five minutes a week. Honestly.

Do's & Don'ts

What to embrace. What to avoid.

A simple side-by-side. Memorise the column on the right and the left takes care of itself.

Welcome

The do's.

  • Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Lint-free and gentle on detailed surfaces.
  • Dust gently, with the contours. Follow the natural lines of the piece.
  • Lift from the sturdiest base. Support the weight from below, not by thin elements.
  • Display indoors, in stable temperatures. A steady, ambient room is the ideal home.
  • Trust water — sparingly, when needed. A barely damp cloth, then dry immediately.
Avoid

The don'ts.

  • Skip alcohol, solvents, or bleach. Even diluted, they dull resin finishes over time.
  • Avoid abrasive sponges or brushes. Anything rough leaves marks that don't undo.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight. Long exposure can lighten colours and finishes.
  • No radiators, fireplaces, or hot windows. Heat sources warp and weaken resin.
  • Don't outdoor it. Don't soak it. Made for indoor display. Made for dry care.

Small choices add up. The right ones keep your piece looking new.

Care FAQ

A few honest answers.

The questions our customers ask most often — and the straightforward answers.

01

How often does my piece really need cleaning?

A light dusting once a week is enough for most pieces. A deeper wipe with a barely damp cloth once a month keeps everything fresh.

If your piece sits in a less-trafficked spot, you can be even more relaxed. The goal isn't frequency — it's quiet consistency.

02

Can I use a regular household cleaner?

No. Standard cleaners — especially anything with alcohol, ammonia, bleach, or solvents — can dull the finish, fade the colour, or weaken the surface over time.

The best cleaner is the one your piece doesn't need: a soft cloth and, occasionally, plain water.

03

My piece is in a sunny room. Is that a problem?

Indirect sunlight is fine. Direct, prolonged sunlight — especially on south-facing windows or near skylights — will gradually lighten colours and finishes over many months.

If you love the spot, just rotate the piece occasionally so the same side isn't always facing the light. Or place it a step or two back from the brightest area.

04

What if I see a small mark or scuff?

For surface dust marks: a barely damp soft cloth, gently — never rub hard. For scuffs from contact: leave them alone. Resin doesn't respond well to abrasives, and most light marks become invisible once dust is removed.

If something more substantial happens, contact us — we're often happy to advise on a case-by-case basis.

05

Can I display my piece outdoors?

We don't recommend it. TrustfulHands pieces are designed for indoor display. Outdoor conditions — UV exposure, humidity swings, temperature shifts, rain — wear down resin and polyresin faster than they should.

Covered porches and conservatories sit in a grey area. If in doubt, indoors is the safer home.

06

How do I store my piece if I need to put it away?

Wrap it loosely in a soft cloth or acid-free tissue paper. Avoid plastic — it can trap moisture and dull the finish. Place it in a sturdy box with padding around it, in a cool, dry spot.

If keeping the original packaging, that's ideal. It's made to fit.
